Andrey Sviridov was born in 1948 in Moscow. In 1971 he has graduated from Moscow Engineering-Physical Institute on the speciality ?Theoretical and experimental nuclear physics?. Since 1971 he works at the All-Russian Research Institute of Automatics (VNIIA) that is included into State Atomic Energy Corporation "Rosatom". He is PhD, his position is Deputy Chief Designer, Head of scientific-design division into which are included eight departments. He is the coordinator of all institute’s international programs. Areas of scientific interests: radiation impact on equipment; radiation methods of hazardous substances detection, including nuclear materials; safety of complex technical systems; radiation detectors; methods of nuclear materials measurements. He is a head of the Rosatom’s Nuclear Material Control and Accounting Equipment and Methodologies (MEM) Working Group. He is the senior member of the international Institute of Nuclear Materials Management (INMM). He is married, has two sons and three grandchildren.
